ASTM A269 and A270 are two common stainless steel pipe standards. The following is information about ASTM A269-270 stainless steel round pipes (annealed and cleaned):
Material: Stainless steel materials such as SUS304 or SUS316L are usually used.
Size range: Diameter ranging from 1/2 inch to 6 inches (DN10-DN150), with wall thickness generally between 1.5-3mm.
Annealing: ASTM A269 and A270 standards both require materials to undergo heat treatment, typically annealing (also known as solution treatment or solution annealing). The surface after annealing is usually referred to as the "bright annealed" surface, which can make the surface of the pipe free of oxide scale.
Cleaning: Cleaning treatment includes removing dust, dirt, and grease from the surface. For stainless steel pipes in pharmaceutical water systems, industrial alcohol or carbon dioxide is usually used for degreasing treatment. In addition, mild cleaning agents can also be used for cleaning.
Polishing: According to specific requirements, the inner and outer surfaces of the pipe can be mechanically polished or electrolytically polished to achieve a mirror effect, and the surface roughness Ra value can be controlled within ≤ 0.8 μ m.
Appearance: It has a good appearance, smooth surface, and no obvious defects.
Corrosion resistance: Due to the use of high-quality stainless steel material, the pipe has good acid and alkali resistance and corrosion resistance after annealing and cleaning treatment.
Mechanical performance: Although A269 does not require tensile testing, hardness testing as well as flange and reverse flattening testing are required.
Food and beverage industry: suitable for occasions with high hygiene requirements such as food processing and beverage production.
Chemical and pharmaceutical industries: can be used for transporting chemical drugs, pharmaceutical water, etc.
Biotechnology and cosmetics industries: They are also widely used in these industries that require extremely high hygiene and cleanliness.
